Donations are used for advertising our programs, maintaining our website and costs associated with putting on our Rock County Civics Academy programs.

We are a non-partisan, good-government group highlighting important issues facing local governments today.

Through basic education about the roles and responsibilities of local units of government and their governance structure, the goal of the Civics Academy is to be the catalyst for a better understanding of what can or cannot be accomplished through collaboration.

All of this is attained through the reestablishment of common-sense principles that focus on the greater good of the community over self or party aspirations.

Common Sense Reestablished was founded by Paul Murphy, DuWayne Severson, and Richard Gruber, all one-time members of the Janesville City Council and longtime community volunteers and leaders.
